Our Story

Barkers Yorkshire Butchers is owned by Simon Barker, a butcher with more than 30 years experience in the trade.

Simon started working in the butchery industry while still at school, with work experience at Wetherheads in Pateley Bridge. He then worked for Layfield & Sons in Knaresborough selling door-to-door from a mobile shop, before gaining more experience in R and J Catering Butchers, and Kendall's Farm butcher in Pateley Bridge. 

Simon previously owned Stanforth's Butchers in Skipton, and then took over a state-of-the-art cutting plant based at Craven Cattle Mart in Skipton and rebranding it as Barker's Yorkshire Butchers.
